Neofonie is going to be releasing what I would consider the iPad killer. Here are the features the WePad has over the iPad: 1. Pretty much everything the iPad has 2. Faster processor 3. Multitasking (this is one of my beefs with the iPad) 4. Flash/Adobe Air support 5. Webcam 6. 2 x USB integrated 7. SIM Card Slot And it’s based on Google Android, so you get the Android Marketplace. What more do you need? One caveat though. The battery may not boast the same length of time as the iPad and may be a little heavier, but this has way more functionality. I’m willing to sacrifice that for more functions. And apparently, they’re going to be marketing this to the older generation (larger screen). I think I’ll be waiting before I line up for the iPad and see what the WePad has in store. Here’s more on the specs as specified in their Factsheet.
“New gods are challenging the old high god, Torval, for rulership of the world. The only way to stop these brash interlopers lies with the five Bones of the Vektia Dragons—the five primal dragons hidden away by the dragon goddess, Vindrash, during the creation of the world. Without these dragons, one of the new gods, Aelon, cannot seize power. The only hope of the Vindrasi lies in finding the dragon bones before the followers of Aelon can use them to destroy the old gods. But the Vindrasi gods have a traitor in their midst…
In the land of mortals, Raegar, a Vindraisi turned Aelon warrior-priest, searches for the spirit bones. The gods have a champion of their own—Skylan Ivorson, sea-raider and high chief of the Vindrasi clans, and sworn enemy to Raegar. But Skylan is a prisoner on his own ship. The ship's dragon, Kahg, has vanished and some believe he is dead. Skylan and his people are taken as captives to Sinaria, where they must fight in a game known as the Para Dix. The fates of men and gods and are dragons are rushing headlong to destruction. Skylan can stop the calamity, but only if he discovers the secret of the dragon.” Go and get it! Following in the footsteps of Joe Konrath (go buy his book!) I’ve been giving my ebook away for free. Joe is an e-book god and he’s been revealing his own stats on ebook sales at his blog, A Newbie’s Guide to Publishing. He subscribes to the philosophy that ebooks should be inexpensive and I completely agree (hence the price of my ebook). Joe has given brilliant advice on covers, pricing, blog tours, etc and I took it all to heart. Over the course of the last week when I released the ebook, I gave away over 1000 copies of the book in PDF format and had almost 1000 views on YouTube for my book trailer. This is in only 6 days. I have found sites around the web where people are already reading/commenting on the book. I’ve gotten my name out there in a very short period of time. And I’m only one person doing this. So what’s next? I’m going to try a few things in regards to generating interest (blog tours, reviews, etc) and I’m curious as to how this is going to translate into sales. So I’m going to try to track that and relate that information here. Let’s see what works and what doesn’t because I’m sure others can benefit from this. Now, I don’t have Joe’s name recognition yet, but I certainly hope it will be almost as successful. Watch for future posts on The Experiment.
